One of the criteria we have for golf course design is to work passionately and with great enthusiasm. We truly love what we do and consider every project an opportunity to showcase our love for golf and for all it has to give. We also appreciate those who work with us who feel the same way.
Darryl Bartlett gave us all of that and something that might be of even more importance. He gave us his willingness to try and build Edina Country Club with an old fashioned look and feel. He took this challenge on and excelled at it.
Today’s modern courses tend to have similar characteristics, partially brought on by the tools used to construct them and partially by the skill sets that have been developed by shapers using these tools. Darryl quickly bought into the look we were trying to achieve and worked tirelessly to achieve this old fashioned horse and plow feel. Darryl’s appreciation for this type of course and the skills he showed to help us achieve it was vital in helping to restore Edina Country Club into the classic course it once was.
In addition, Darryl was a pleasure to work with. We enjoyed our time spent with him whether it was the hours we had discussing the vision or in just getting to know him. We think highly of Darryl as a person and it is with great pleasure that we recommend him for any sort of future work.

Back in late Spring 1996 my golf course construction project was in utter chaos with a completely dysfunctional team in place
After a discussion with the architect--Mark Mungeam--I decided to fire the team in place and hire the Bartletts (Fallbrook).
My only regret is that I didn't start the project with Vinny, Darryl et al. I would have saved both a lot of aggravation and money.
My course was not only saved but was finished on time and on budget--whew!
